The Effect of Fixation, Preservation and Freezing on Certain Body Proportions of Two Small Pelagic Fish Species, Sardinella Longiceps (Family: Clupeidae) and Selaroides Leptolepis Collected From Muscat Waters, Sultanate of Oman - page 3

Three types of effect were observed: increase in body length measurements, shrinkage and no effect. Increases in body proportions were noticed in S. longiceps. For S. leptolepis, 14 experiments showed increase in body lengths, 3 showed shrinkage and no detectable effect in 4 (Figures 1-7).
